Support Worker - Child-Wellbeing

We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and culturally grounded Support Workers to join our team in providing high-quality care and support for four male clients aged 8–17 years living with special needs.

These young individuals have Autism, Global Developmental Delay, and are non-verbal, requiring patient, responsive, and consistent support in their day-to-day lives.

Shifts: 12 hours: 7am – 7pm or 7pm – 7am.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care, exercise program and daily routines.
  • Engage the client in meaningful and stimulating activities.
  • Provide emotional support in a calm and patient centred manner.
  • Promote independence while ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider support team.

Key Requirements:

  • The ability to work in a male-only environment (both clients and team members)
  • Pacifica or Māori cultural background.
  • Experience working with children or individuals with special needs (preferably Autism).
  • Physically fit and capable of supporting a strong person.
  • Compassionate, patient, and able to build a trusting relationship.
  • Reliable, flexible, and committed to making a difference.
  • A full NZ driver’s licence and the legal right to work in New Zealand.
