Support Worker (Disability Support)

About Us

Visionwest Home Healthcare is an established provider and has over 35 years’ experience providing quality, professional home help support to people, enabling them to live independently within their own homes. Our clients include people of all ages, with varying needs. We are currently looking for energetic, caring, committed and empathetic people to provide quality in-home care to our clients with disabilities. Visionwest Home Healthcare has a vision to see Transformed Lives and Healthy Communities. We provide support from 7am to 9.30pm, 7 days a week and offer variable hours.

The Role

• Personal care - showering, toileting, dressing etc
• Medication oversight - prompting/supervising clients with medication
• Mobility assistance – assisting client’s mobility power chair and 2 person hoist assist etc. 
• Meal preparation and feeding assistance  
• Household tasks - cleaning, vacuuming, laundry etc 
• Community living - shopping, exercise etc

The Hours

• There will be a guaranteed hours of 20 hours per week. 
• Working days are Monday and Thursday to Sunday between 7am to 6.30pm. 

The Requirements 

• Good oral and communication skills
• Good time management
• Reliable transport with a clean & current NZ driver's license
• Level 2 or 3 Health and Well-being qualification or equivalent 
• Have the right to work in New Zealand 
• Good health and fitness
• Ability to establish rapport with individual clients and relate to their families/whanau
