We’re looking for energetic, compassionate, and motivated people to join our team and support individuals with disabilities to live independently in their own homes and participate fully in community life.

About the role:

  • Community Based  support Worker roles Across Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa, and Te Puke 
  • Full-time or part-time roles
  • Pay rates from $23.95–$29.10 per hour (based on qualifications).

As a Support Worker with SILC, you will be an authentic, community-minded advocate for the people we support. Your core responsibility is to empower individuals to gain as much independence as possible and to build a life rich in meaningful roles, genuine connections, and great experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide personalised, respectful support to people in their homes and the community.
  • Assist with everyday tasks, life admin, and removing barriers to independence.
  • Encourage participation in activities and social connections.
  • Offer positive motivation, consistency, and companionship.
  • Work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and community networks.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to individual support plans.
  • Support independence with household tasks, meal preparation, and personal care.

About You

  • You’re a great communicator – patient, calm, and able to build trust easily.
  • You’re fit, active, and adaptable, ready to support a range of needs.
  • You’re confident engaging with community groups and networks.
  • You’re able to work on a fortnightly roster, including evenings and weekends.
  • You hold a full New Zealand driver’s license and have access to a vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
  • You’re eligible to work in New Zealand and can meet police vetting requirements.
