Are you a confident, empathetic, and adaptable support worker looking to make a real difference in a young person’s life? 

We are seeking a support worker to join our dedicated team, supporting clients impacted by brain injury or long-term conditions. This role focuses on building life skills, independence, and community engagement in a respectful and empowering way. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping others and is ready to be a positive role model in a young person’s journey toward independence. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clients in accessing community services and activities.
  • Be a consistent, positive presence and role model.
  • Help create a warm, respectful, and motivating environment.
  • Respond constructively to behavioural challenges and support positive strategies.
  • Engage with community providers (e.g. WINZ, HNZ, CADS, Mental Health).
  • Work independently in the client’s home and community.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Level 3 or 4 Health & Wellbeing qualification (minimum Level 3 required).
  • Experience with brain injury, physical disability, mental health, or addiction.
  • Understanding of communication challenges is a plus.
  • Full, clean driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Clean criminal record and willingness to undergo police checks.
  • Strong cultural competency, including understanding of Māori perspectives and tikanga Māori.
  • A caring, patient, and client-centred approach.
