Work directly with whanau and individuals of VisionWest Community Trust Housing team and its multiple housing programmes. Engage and support whanau and individuals by providing individual assessments and plans. Connect whanau and individuals to life skill services, advocacy and supports. Provide an integrated and holistic approach to care for whanau and individuals in housing need. 

You will also:

  • Support people who have housing related issues and receive external referrals
  • Empower whanau and individuals to live independently 
  • Encourage an enhanced sense of wellbeing in all areas of their lives 
  • Share hope that will encourage whanau to transform their current circumstances 
  • Meet all KPIs required by the multiple contracts being delivered by Housing

You will need: 

  • A tertiary qualification in social practice
  • The ability to work within a Kaupapa Māori framework 
  • Have an understanding of tikanga Māori
  • Experience dealing with those who have experienced trauma and abuse
  • A commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi
