Southern Cross Invercargill Hospital is the southernmost private surgical hospital in the Southern Cross network, it is widely known and used by people throughout the Southland and Queenstown-Wakatipu basin areas.

The hospital features advanced theatre systems, including robotic orthopaedic surgery.  Our highly skilled and caring team provide excellent care to 4200 patients per year.  Our elective surgical services include Breast; Endoscopy and Gastroenterology; General; Gynaecology; Ophthalmology; Oral and Maxillofacial; Orthopaedic; Ear Nose and Throat; and Urology surgery. 

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As our Supply Chain Coordinator, you’ll be the engine room that keeps our hospital operating at its best. From receiving and storing stock to managing inventory accuracy and master data, you’ll ensure the right products are in the right place at exactly the right time — supporting clinicians to deliver outstanding patient care.

Working across the full onsite supply chain process, you’ll partner closely with the Supply Chain Manager and hospital teams to prevent stock shortages, resolve discrepancies, and drive smarter, more efficient ways of working. You’ll contribute to performance measures, support continuous improvement initiatives, and play a key role in maintaining a well-organised, audit-ready environment.

This is a permanent opportunity with 0.75 FTE based at our Southern Cross Invercargill Hospital.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in inventory, supply chain, or warehousing environments where accuracy and pace are critical
  • Proven experience using ERP systems to confidently manage inventory, replenishment, and data integrity
  • Strong inventory control capability — healthcare experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Exceptional attention to detail, balanced with the ability to see the bigger picture
  • A natural problem-solver who enjoys investigating and resolving stock variances
  • A practical, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset — you’re happy to jump in and get the work done 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across clinical and non-clinical teams
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with confidence in reporting and working with data
  • A qualification in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Logistics, or a related discipline is desirable
  • APICS certification or similar professional accreditation would be an advantage
