Supply Chain Coordinator 

Southern Cross Christchurch Hospital

Southern Cross Christchurch Hospital is the largest hospital within Southern Cross Healthcare’s national network and is easily accessed within central Christchurch.  The hospital offers a wide range of elective surgical services including Orthopaedic, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Oral and Facial Maxillary, Urology, Otolaryngology (ENT), Plastic & Reconstructive, Bariatric, General, and Endoscopic surgery. 

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Join us as a Supply Chain Coordinator and help keep our hospital inventory running smoothly. This full-time role that plays a vital part in supporting smooth hospital operations.

You’ll handle functions including procurement, inwards goods, pick & pack, inventory management, master data management and health & safety compliance. Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager, internal stakeholders, and suppliers, you’ll make sure everything flows efficiently and safely.  

You’ll also assist with inventory enquiries, stock counts, and process improvements, while maintaining clean, compliant storage areas. If you’re proactive and enjoy both independent and team work, we’d love to hear from you.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Minimum 2 –3 Years experience within a supply chain/inventory management focused role
  • Proficient in using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking and reporting
  • Comfortable with physical work, including lifting, moving, and organising stock in a hospital environment
  • Reliable, flexible, and highly adaptable - someone who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment and stays calm under pressure.  
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate master data and follow SOPs
  • A proactive, solutions-focused thinker with a “can do” attitude who isn’t afraid to challenge appropriately, can receive and deliver direct communication, and make informed decisions when empowered. 
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build collaborative relationships across teams and with suppliers. 
  • A collaborative team player with a great sense of humour, a positive presence, and the ability to lift team morale. 
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.
