EIT is seeking a Student Wellbeing Advisor who is passionate about student success, to provide information, advice and guidance to all EIT students studying in the Tairāwhiti region. This role will be primarily responsible for providing Mental Health and Social Services advice and support to EIT students in the Tairāwhiti region.  

You will be part of a dynamic team that delivers support to all students across the Tairāwhiti region which includes learning support and pastoral care support to Māori and Pasifika Trades Training students.

You will also:

  • Be well connected in the Social Services and Mental Health sectors in the Tairāwhiti region
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders including DHB services, non-government organisations and other relevant agencies 
  • Be able to identify and assess a student’s needs ensuring the right support, referral and/or advocacy service is provided
  • Have excellent communication skills both one on one and in a class environment
  • Be able to work flexible hours including some evenings, weekends, and travel to Regional Learning Centres as required,

A relevant tertiary qualification would be a distinct advantage.

Based in Gisborne this role is 30 hours p/w to the end of 2021.
