Mō te tūraka mahi | About the role 

Based in the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health, you will be part of the College of Health professional administration team. The Student Placement Coordinator role is responsible for the co-ordination, negotiation and securing of ākonga (learner) practice/placement experiences within our Bachelor and Post Graduate programmes. You will work in collaboration with ISEH academic Kaiako, building, fostering and nurturing relationships with identified placement providers throughout Dunedin, promoting our organisation, our values and our ākonga.

Our preferred candidate will be highly organised, detail-focused, pro-active and committed coordinator who has highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills.  

You will have outstanding relationship-building skills which are customer-centred and you will feel comfortable fostering and maintaining relationships with industry professionals and other stakeholders.  

The successful applicant will have positive and productive team attitude including the drive to be a highly functioning member of our team. 

Excellent skills in word processing, and competency with spreadsheet and database use is essential, as are multitasking skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage time effectively along with an active commitment to ensuring that timely services of the highest quality are consistently provided.   You will have strength in identifying and enacting process improvements. 

You will have a relevant tertiary level qualification or equivalent experience.

An understanding of cultural diversity and the ability to work with a variety of customers is preferred along with familiarity with the tertiary education sector.
