Sterile Services Technician – Gillies Hospital
Southern Cross Gillies Hospital, in Epsom, is designed with a focus on short stay surgery and family-centred care. The hospital has four theatres, a purpose built day-stay facility and 20 in-patient beds with ensuite facilities. A centre of expertise for head and neck surgery and otolaryngology (ENT), it also offers oral and maxillofacial, gynaecological, plastic and reconstructive and general paediatric surgery, backed up by friendly, highly professional nursing teams and systems designed to benefit patients of all ages.

Join our dedicated theatre team as a Sterile Services Technician, where your precision and commitment to safety play a vital role in delivering exceptional surgical care. You’ll be the behind-the-scenes expert responsible for the complete sterilisation cycle – from decontamination and inspection to testing, assembling, packing, and sterilising reusable medical devices.
This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday across morning and afternoon shifts. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure every surgical instrument and piece of theatre equipment is prepared to the highest standards, supporting safe, seamless procedures and world-class patient outcomes.
You’ll confidently operate advanced sterilisation equipment, maintain strict compliance with AS/NZS 5369 and Southern Cross infection control protocols, and contribute to quality assurance, documentation, and continuous service improvement. As a valued member of our collaborative team, you’ll share knowledge, support innovation, and remain committed to your professional development — all while making a meaningful impact, one tray at a time.
