Southern Cross Central Lakes Hospital (SCCLH) received its first patients in January 2022, and has steadily developed a broad range of specialty surgery covering both private and public patients. The joint venture ownership between Southern Cross Healthcare and Central Lakes Trust ensures leading clinical service delivery whilst maintaining a genuine focus to provide healthcare services closer to home for general population of Central Otago.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We are looking for a Sterile Services Technician to join our team in a full-time position. The hourly rate for this role is $31.61 (gross) per hour.

You will be required to provide, as part of the theatre team, a high standard of sterilising service consisting of the decontamination, inspection, testing, assembly, packing and sterilisation of reusable medical devices. This specifically involves the reprocessing of contaminated sets of surgical instruments, accessories and other related equipment used within our operating theatres.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Level 3 or above Certificate in Sterilising Technology 
  • Previous sterile services experience within a similar environment
  • Be a team player with excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Good organisation skills
  • To be flexible/adaptable and to respond positively to the changing needs of the business
