About the Role 

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced CSSD professional to take the next steps in their career. 

The Sterile Services Coordinator role is responsible for providing leadership and support to the Sterile Services team to ensure an efficient and effective CSSD. This role also ensures Sterile Services are delivered in accordance with AS/NZ 4187:2014 and best practice.

This is a permanent role offered at 1.0FTE or 40 hours per week role to be worked Monday-Friday with the rare weekend shift to ensure departmental needs are covered appropriately. 

Specific duties include: 

  • Ensure the education and learning of the team enables them to practice tasks competently and safely to the required standard.
  • Ensure all resources inclusive of staffing, machinery and equipment are in place to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Sterile Services Department.
  • Manage all risks involved with machinery and reusable medical devices in the Sterile Services department to ensure both patient and staff safety.

Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role 
  • Ability to lead by example and work collaboratively to meet departmental requirements 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship skills 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management 
  • Enthusiasm and a proactive, flexible attitude.

The successful person must hold a Current NZSSA Qualification or equivalent certification plus a minimum of 5 years working as a qualified CSSD Technician and have NZSSA Certification.
