This teaching role requires an individual who is able to teach a range of Sport and exercise topics to Level 2-5 students.
Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role
This role is responsible for delivering engaging and supportive Sport Science teaching across a range of programmes, with a primary focus on the Waikato Trades Academy (Level 2 and 3). Teaching will include core Sport Science content such as Human Anatomy and Physiology and Exercise Training, with additional delivery across Certificate Level 4 and Degree Level 5 programmes as required.
The role plays a key part in supporting rangatahi to succeed through inclusive, learner-centred teaching practices that foster engagement, confidence and progression into further study or employment.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $77,500 and $87,200, dependent on skills and experience. This is a part time, Fixed term role, 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday).
The Sport Science tutor is based in our Centre for Sport Science and Human Performance reporting to the Team Manager and will be responsible for:
· Delivering high-quality teaching and assessment in Sport Science, including Human Anatomy, Physiology and Exercise Training
· Primarily teaching within the Waikato Trades Academy at Levels 2 and 3, with some delivery at Certificate Level 4 and Degree Level 5
· Designing, implementing and maintaining engaging learning and assessment materials aligned with programme outcomes and NZQA requirements
· Supporting ākonga achievement and wellbeing through inclusive teaching practices and academic pastoral care
· Contributing to moderation, programme review and continuous improvement activities
