Our Technology team is looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer.

This role is responsible for the hands-on technical implementation and development of applications and integrations  between services via APIs, while contributing to solution planning and delivery, and the optimisation of business processes  and workflows, and service support. This role will participate in knowledge sharing, incident management and driving continuous improvement for service operations and support. 

This role will require you to analyse, evaluate, and implement software solutions to complex business problems across projects and BAU as required.  

Work in an agile delivery environment within our delivery team.

Develop and optimise the automation of business processes on the platform using our Domain-specific language using JavaScript and XML. Build notifications (e.g. email and SMS) and compose documents, including autogenerated summarized application forms via Velocity Templating language using HTML and CSS. Configuration and maintenance of REST APIs and SOAP web services with external third-party integrations using JAVA. 

Design, develop and execute JUNIT/Selenium automation end-to-end test cases using the platform’s framework. Identify limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and applications. Create, update, and maintain technical end user documentation and operational procedures.

This role is responsible for the hands-on technical implementation and development of applications and integrations between services via APIs, while contributing to solution planning and delivery, and the optimisation of business processes and workflows, and service support.

You will participate in knowledge sharing, incident management and driving continuous improvement for service operations and support while developing and preparing software applications and code changes for deployment through testing and production environments, aligned to business needs

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Contribute to the definition, scope and phasing of project timelines, with a focus on business value delivery, including technical delivery and design options and considerations
  • Ensure security, performance and data integrity standards are upheld across the team, including keeping current with topical security issues, secure coding guidelines and addressing security concerns before code deployment
  • Contribute to the evolution of the software development and deployment environments through tools and processes such as continual integration and continual deployment
  • Monitor and manage applications, environments and services within the Service Group or Platform responsibility to ensure they operate within their agreed SLAs
  • Respond to system incidents and problems to ensure they operate within their agreed SLAs

Your skills will include:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer, developing applications in Java and JavaScript 
  • 2+ years’ developing within cross-functional Agile Teams
  • Demonstrated commercial experience in API-Led ecosystems i.e. REST API’s
  • Relevant technology certifications obtained from foundational to associate levels
  • Excellent planning, negotiation and communication skills
  • Prior experience in the financial services industry an advantage
