Software Engineer

This role is responsible for the hands-on technical implementation and development of applications and integrations between services using APIs, while also aiding in solution planning and delivery, as well as enhancing business processes, workflows, and service support. 

In this role you will engage in knowledge sharing, manage incidents, and promote ongoing improvements for service operations and support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the exploration, definition, and scope of delivery tasks, emphasising business value, which includes technical delivery and design alternatives for evaluation
  • Create and prepare software applications and code modifications for deployment through testing and production environments, aligned with business requirements
  • Ensure that security, performance, and data integrity standards are maintained across the team, including staying updated on current security issues, secure coding practices, and addressing security risks prior to code deployment
  • Participate in the advancement of the software development and deployment environments through tools and processes such as continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Oversee and manage applications, environments, and services within the Service Group or Platform's responsibility to confirm they function within their established SLAs
  • Address system incidents and issues to ensure operations remain within their designated SLAs

You will have: 

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer, developing applications in Java and/or .Net and Python
  • 2+ years’ developing within cross- functional Agile Teams
  • Demonstrated commercial experience in API-Led ecosystems
  • Relevant technology certifications obtained from foundational to associate levels
  • Excellent planning, negotiation and communication skills
  • Prior experience in the financial services industry
