Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role
As the Social Worker in our Whānau Ora team, you will support whānau with more complex social issues, while providing informal guidance and coaching to our other Kaiārahi/Navigators. You will carry your own caseload and contribute to the wider team through day‑to‑day advice and occasional training support.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside Kaiārahi, health professionals, community partners, and wider whānau to achieve shared goals for whānau.

You are a qualified Social Worker who thrives in kaupapa Māori environments and is committed to mana‑enhancing, strengths‑based practice with whānau. You bring experience working alongside whānau facing complex challenges and have the confidence and willingness to share your expertise with others.
To be considered for this role you will have:
- A Social Work qualification
- 3+ years of experience in Social work
- Strong understanding of the Whānau Ora approach
- Experience working in whānau-centred, kaupapa Māori contexts
- The ability to work effectively with whānau facing complex challenges in a mana enhancing way
- Confidence to model good practice and support others
- An understanding of Te Ao Māori, Tikanga, and Te Reo Māori (or commitment to develop)
- Excellent relationship building and communication skills
- A Full, clean driver’s licence
