Mō te tūnga | About the role: 

 Join our Enliven team at Vickery Court as a Service Worker and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our Kaumātua (residents). 

In this rewarding, entry-level role, you’ll provide essential daily support including delivering meals, tidying rooms, and offering friendly companionship, all while upholding the values of respect, compassion, and whānau. You’ll also support our kitchen team at times, which may include helping with simple tasks such as collecting dishes, washing up, or keeping the servery area tidy, so being comfortable pitching in where needed is important.

No prior experience is required, just a caring attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.  If you’re passionate about supporting others and want to be part of a team that fosters connection and well being, we’d love to hear from you. 

We provide support for our residents 24 hours a day 7 days a week - this includes weekend work where you can earn up to $4 more an hour for your hours worked on a Saturday or Sunday.  

This position follows a rotating 4 days on, 4 days off roster, with set hours of 7:00 am to 1:30 pm, giving you a great balance of work and life while still maintaining consistent routine.

  • Strong time management and initiative, able to follow routines and complete tasks independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, to build positive relationships with residents, their whānau, and colleagues.
  • A team-focused mindset, with a willingness to support others and contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace culture .

 Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver meals and refreshments to Kaumātua (residents) in a timely and respectful manner, ensuring a positive mealtime experience. 
  • Maintain a clean and tidy environment by changing bed linen, tidying rooms, and supporting general housekeeping tasks
  • Provide friendly and compassionate interaction with residents, offering companionship and reporting any well being concerns to the nursing team
  • Support the wider care team by following scheduled task cards and assisting with daily routines that promote resident comfort and independence
