About the Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Underwriter – Technical to provide expert underwriting advice and solutions for complex risks across FMG. Acting as a key technical referral point, you’ll support consistent decision-making, underwriting governance, portfolio performance and practical risk solutions for our clients.
You’ll work closely with Underwriting, Sales, Advice and Service, Product, Digital Delivery and governance teams to help shape strong underwriting outcomes and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical underwriting advice for complex or escalated risks.
- Support consistent application of FMG’s underwriting appetite, delegated authority and governance frameworks.
- Prepare insights, reports and recommendations to improve underwriting performance.
- Support portfolio management, risk assessment and reinsurance solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching and training to underwriting and frontline teams.
- Contribute to underwriting system changes, process improvements and guideline updates.
About You
You’re an experienced underwriter with strong technical expertise, sound judgement and confidence working with complex risks. You bring a practical, client-focused approach and can build credibility with stakeholders through clear advice, strong analysis and collaborative problem-solving.
