The role - Senior Project Manager
We are looking for an experienced and capable Senior Commercial / Industrial Construction Project Manager who can come in and hit the ground running. You will be a key team member on our design and build projects in Canterbury and lower North Island and will oversee our projects through to completion.
You will work alongside the Construction Manager, Operations Managers and the onsite construction teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects in the Canterbury and lower North Island regions.

Skills You Will Need
Being an integral member of our construction team, you will be an excellent communicator and have natural leadership ability and a thorough understanding of NZ commercial construction methods. You will be proficient in the use of MS Project and have strong programming abilities You will be a Team player who is calm under pressure, is solutions focused and builds strong relationships with all stakeholders.
Additionally, we will be looking for the following attributes from candidates:
· A trade or tertiary qualification in construction management or quantity surveying would be advantageous
· At least 10+ years’ experience in delivering a mix of medium to large, design and build commercial construction projects
· The role will be largely office based but will require out of town travel at times to meet project requirements
· Site based physical construction experience e.g. someone that has been on the tools and worked their way up the ranks, would be highly advantageous
· Ability to interpret detailed construction plans and specifications
· Sound knowledge of NZS3910, 3915 & 3916 construction contracts
· Proven experience in commercial and contractual capability, leading procurement processes, preparing and evaluating tenders, and overseeing contract preparation and administration, including contract instructions, variations, progress claims, and performance monitoring.
· A high degree of competence in Microsoft Office including MS Project
· Experience in the utilisation of Procore project management systems
· A high degree of experience in project administration including document control, RFI’s, CI’s etc
· Experience in project quality management and development of ITP’s, Project Handover plans etc
· A high level of experience in the use of Microsoft Project developing, monitoring and updating detailed critical path construction programmes
· Outstanding written and oral communication
