Market Research Analyst
About the role
The Senior Product Manager leads and delivers product performance against agreed targets, including client outcomes, compliance, efficiency, profitability and innovation. They manage product risks, issues and improvement opportunities, and lead product changes—ensuring policy wording is clear, precise and technically sound. They apply the Product Development and Review Framework (PDARF) to identify opportunities, develop business cases, secure resources, and drive successful delivery, including managing impacts across the business and measuring success. The role also provides day-to-day leadership, coaching and direction to Product Managers and Specialists, allocating work such as market research, product reviews and change initiatives to support FMG’s business objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Set clear direction and priorities for the Product Team, aligning work to client outcomes, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
- Provide direction, clarity, and people leadership for the Product Managers and Product Specialists to drive delivery of Product related research, reviews and change initiatives.
- Oversee delivery and performance, including coaching, monitoring risks and issues, and ensuring disciplined product development and change delivery through PDARF.
- Lead a continuous review of product performance across he product lifecycle to ensure fair client outcomes and optimal product performance.
- Identify and investigate areas of under-performance, develop and present improvement initiatives in response, including preparation of recommendations for the Insurance Risk Committee.
- Apply industry expertise to strategically direct product development and implement modifications to the product(s) to maximise product performance and efficiency.
About you:
- A commercially astute product leader with 10+ years’ experience in insurance or financial services, with strong market, product and risk knowledge
- Highly client-focused, balancing customer outcomes with business performance, compliance and continuous improvement
- Strategic and analytical thinker who takes ownership, navigates complexity and leads change with confidence
- Strong relationship builder who collaborates effectively and influences stakeholders to deliver outcomes
- An experienced people leader who coaches and develops others, with a track record of delivering product and change initiatives end-to-end
