We're on a mission to transform the way Aotearoa thinks about cloud — by keeping our data, human capability, and cloud spend local and sovereign. You will work with multiple teams within the company to continue to build and run our hyper-scale cloud. What you will be doing:

• Working in our Hardware and Networks Team, which is responsible for the life-cycle of Catalyst Cloud's public and private cloud offerings.
• Blending expertise in Systems and Network Administration, IT Architecture, and Site Reliability Engineering to build and support reliable, scalable cloud environments.
• Working with hardware (the Cloud is just somebody else's computers after all, we're the “somebody”!) running Linux (Ubuntu/Debian).
• Working with network switches, such as Pica8's PicOS, NVIDIA's Cumulus Linux and Arista's EOS.
• Delving into the guts of OpenStack to support our other engineering teams.
• Troubleshooting issues in a complex, dynamic and interesting environment.

The role is in Wellington, New Zealand, but an ability to travel within New Zealand is required, as is having a drivers license and own car.

The role could be “up-sized” to a team leader for the right applicant.
