Senior Claims Adviser – Natural Hazards
FMG has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Claims Adviser – Natural Hazards to join our Claims team based in either Palmerston North or Christchurch on a 12 month fixed-term.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll manage Natural Hazard and General Insurance claims in collaboration with our Natural Hazard Loss Adjusters and the Natural Hazard Commission, to support customers through challenging situations and help deliver the high-quality claims service FMG is known for.
As a Senior Claims Adviser, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of Natural Hazard and General Insurance claims, ensuring they’re managed efficiently, fairly and in line with legislation and FMG policy.
In this role, you will:
- Manage Natural Hazard and General Insurance claims end to end, delivering excellent customer outcomes
- Apply the EQC Act, NHI Act and FMG policy wordings with confidence and consistency
- Make sound, well informed decisions using a common sense, customer focused approach
- Support Claims team members
- Build effective relationships with customers, suppliers and industry partners
About you
You’re an experienced claims professional who enjoys solving problems, working with people, and making a real difference for customers. You’re confident, organised, and comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in insurance claims, ideally within complex or Natural Hazard claims
- Strong analytical and decision making skills
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication skill
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
