Bidfood Palmerston North is looking for an experienced sales person to join our ever expanding team.

You will be looking after a wide range of Foodservice customers, so building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers will be essential.

We want the best, someone who achieves strong results within the Foodservice industry. 

You'll need to be an effective communicator, with experience in creating workable strategies to maximise both sales and margins.

Bidfood Palmerston North is the leading Foodservice provider in the greater Manawatu area & covers a large geographical area.

We have a great team & are looking for a highly motivated individual to complement our existing sales team. 

You will be responsible for the efficient and effective deployment of  sales and increasing market share in a growing market which incorporates, but not restricted to, Cafes, Takeaways, Restaurants, Bakeries, Schools & Lunch Bars.


Sales Representative Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves customers by selling products and meeting customer needs.
  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders,and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers.
  • Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of customer or trade factor.
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume
  • Submits orders by referring to price and product via online tools
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications  & establishing personal networks.
  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Sales Representative Key Performance Indicators 

· Sales growth and profitability of the assigned area

· Achieve monthly sales targets

· Maintain a good GP set by management

· Call Plan & phone lists up to date

· Compliance with food safety requirements

· Continuity of health and safety checks

This is a salaried position as well as commission, based on 40 hours per week Monday – Friday, 

This role can be based in Palmerston North or Whanganui

Skills & Experience
