Bidfood is New Zealand’s leading foodservice distributor, proudly supplying quality food and related products to customers nationwide. We’re currently seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead our Sales Team at our Waipapa branch.

We’re passionate about great food, great service, and great people and we’re looking for someone who can bring that same energy to every customer connection.  

This role is responsible for driving sales growth, margin performance and customer service excellence, while building capability within the Sales Team and strengthening Bidfood’s presence in the local market.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will:

  • Set and execute the branch Sales and Margin strategy
  • Lead, coach and develop the Sales Team to achieve targets
  • Manage key customer relationships and oversee major accounts
  • Drive promotional programmes, trade shows and branch initiatives
  • Monitor GP, margin exceptions and sales performance against budget
  • Grow My Bidfood adoption and exclusive product ranges
  • Coordinate national contract business within the branch
  • Work closely with Operations, Purchasing and Despatch to deliver on customer promises
  • Build market knowledge including competitor activity, pricing and product innovation
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety and company policies

You will also manage your own customer portfolio and play an active role in strategic planning and corrective actions where performance is below expectations.

About you

  • Proven experience in sales leadership or senior account management
  • Strong commercial acumen with a focus on GP and margin control
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • Experience coaching and developing high-performing sales teams
  • Confidence working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid systems capability and reporting discipline

Experience in foodservice, wholesale or FMCG environments is highly desirable.
