What does a Refrigerated Container Plugging person do?

A refrigerated container plugging person (we call them a reefer care plugger) are responsible for plugging in and unplugging refrigerated containers. You will work outside in the container terminal, walking is part of the job and there are lots of stairs. You will work as part of a great team caring for the best of Hawke’s Bay produce transported by container. 

What do I need to know?

Napier Port is a 24/7 business. That means shift work, working weekends and public holidays is part of the deal. We know night shifts can be hard so we ensure you have dedicated time off work to prepare and to rest afterwards, and we provide mentors who can share their insights about managing tiredness. We share it around to keep it fair for everyone.

This is a casual position to assist during our busy season and is not a permanent role. We are looking to have people till June when our season winds down. There is more than one position available, with staggered start dates in November, December and January.
