He Korowai Aroha is a Kaupapa Māori well-being service focused on supporting whānau to provide nurturing environments that support pēpi, tamariki and whānau to thrive and reach their full potential. This service will provide a community-based whare for mama, papa and whānau to come together for support throughout pregnancy and for the first 2000 days (the first five years).
TToH is a whānau focused, kaupapa Māori values-based, health and social services organisation providing services across the Kahungunu rohe. Our health, social, education and community development teams have been working successfully with whānau for 40 years.
We are looking for a Rongoā Practitioner who will facilitate, co-ordinate and administer rongoā practises for hapu mama and whānau. As part of this integrated team of a Social Worker, Counsellors and a Support Worker, you will provide culturally responsive and respectful care and treatment to whānau involving Karakia, Mirimiri and Whitiwhiti kōrero. You will provide care in accordance with the Tikanga a Rongoā Standards (aligned with the Health and Disability Service Standards) and the agreed service specifications for Rongoā Māori Traditional Healing.

§ A relevant qualification and experience relating to Rongoā Māori
§ Practice that is aligned with the Tikanga a Rongoā Standards
§ Knowledge and experience relating to providing maternity and early years care and support
§ An ability to build strong connections to empower, motivate, educate and encourage māmā and whānau to build upon their strengths and achieve their aspirations
§ A commitment to providing whānau centred and integrated care to māmā, pepi and their whānau
§ Culturally competent with a commitment to the kaupapa of Te Hā O Te Mokopuna model of care
§ Awareness of, and a commitment to understanding the implications for Maori health that are implicit in the Treaty of Waitangi
§ Hold a clean, current and valid Full Driver’s License
This is a full time, permanent position working 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
