Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is looking for part-time and casual Mental Health Support Workers / Kaimanaaki to join our team at Waiorua, a residential mental health service in Flaxmere.

Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is a whānau-focused, Iwi mandated, kaupapa Māori health and social services organisation. We have been supporting our whānau me hapori to achieve their aspirations and general wellbeing for more than 39 years.  Underpinning our success as an organisation are our values Kotahitanga, Whakamana, Kaitiakitanga and Whanaungataunga, which are woven through everything we do. 

Waiorua operates 24/7 residential service across two homes supporting Tāne and Wāhine. Shifts are 8 hours long and rostered across:

  • Day: 8am–4pm
  • Evening: 4pm–12am
  • Wakeover: 12am–8am

Vacancies:

Part-time permanent role covers the weekend shift from 3:45pm to 12:00am on Saturdays and Sundays

Casual positions support the team by providing shift cover as needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Level 4 Certificate in Mental Health, Health & Wellbeing, or Hauora
  • Experience in mental health, aged care, or disability support
  • Medication competency and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Full, clean Driver’s License
  • Adaptability and a collaborative approach
  • Empathy, people skills and professional boundaries

Additional Requirements:

  • Physical Functional Health Assessment
  • Police Vetting
