Reliever Caregiver (Whangarei)

BestStart is looking for unqualified Reliever Caregivers – the unsung heroes who step in, support our kaiako, and bring joy to our tamariki when it’s needed most.
You won’t just be picking up shifts, you’ll be helping create a home away from home for our tamariki and building strong relationships with staff, whānau, and the wider community.
What does the role look like?
As a Reliever Caregiver, you’ll:
- Support our permanent teachers with daily routines
- Care for and guide our tamariki through their learning and play
- Jump in with energy, ideas, and aroha to keep the day running smoothly
- Enjoy the variety—every day brings something new, and no two are ever the same
Who we’re looking for:
- Someone with a passion for working with children and supporting whānau
- Reliable, flexible, and full of initiative
- Caring, fun-loving, and ready to get stuck in
- No formal ECE qualifications needed – just your enthusiasm and heart
- Has clean police vetting and 2x workplace references
