The Role 

We are looking for a Registered Social Worker to provide social work support and advocacy in Oamaru. In this role, you will work alongside our local multi-disciplinary team of 6 staff as well as connect with our wider Family Works team across the Otago region to provide effective, quality social work services to clients and the community. 

 Hours: This is a permanent, part time position working 30 hours per week.


About You 

  • A Registered Social Worker 
  • Someone with sound knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and an understanding of working within a bi-cultural and multi-cultural framework
  • Great with interpersonal and advocacy skills and can prioritize working collaboratively.
  • Understanding of the impact of social complexities and be able to use your skills and knowledge to work within a generic community social work team.
  • Able to work autonomously whilst also being part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • Someone with enthusiasm, energy, commitment and have a good sense of humour
