Southern Cross Wellington Hospital is a private elective surgical hospital. The hospital features day procedure facilities, five operating theatres and a modern High Dependency unit - all of which allows the hospital to provide for the needs of a variety of patients, including those requiring complex surgical procedures. Clinical services include Orthopaedic surgery, Neurosurgery, Colorectal surgery, Gynaecology, Paediatric surgery, Ear, Nose & Throat, Ophthalmology, Oncology and Urology.
First established in 1992, the hospital has seen significant additions and upgrades on the site over recent years. The new building adjacent to the hospital at 88 Hanson Street houses a state-of-the-art Day Stay surgical facility (Wellington Surgical Centre), Affinity Medical imaging and the Southern Cross Specialist Centre.

We are seeking two compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses to join our Surgical Ward at Southern Cross Wellington Hospital on a permanent 0.9 FTE basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern healthcare environment where clinical excellence, teamwork, and patient-centred care are at the heart of everything we do.
As a Registered Nurse on our Surgical Ward, you will provide high-quality care to patients across a broad range of surgical specialties, supporting them throughout their hospital journey from admission through to discharge. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll undertake patient assessments, implement care plans, administer medications, monitor post-operative recovery, and respond to changes in patient condition. Your clinical expertise, critical thinking, and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment will be essential to achieving excellent patient outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to further develop your surgical nursing skills within a supportive and experienced team. You'll play an important role in supporting patients and their whānau throughout their hospital stay, helping to ensure they feel informed and well cared for. This is a rewarding opportunity for nurses looking to broaden their experience and contribute to excellent patient outcomes.
