Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Ward team at Southern Cross New Plymouth Hospital in a rostered part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed-term position covering parental leave. This role offers the chance to be part of a supportive team in a modern hospital where patient care and collaboration are a strong focus.

In this position, you’ll care for patients across a range of surgical specialties, supporting them before and after their procedures. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver care that meets a high clinical standard and responds to each patient’s needs. This is a role where you can make a meaningful impact while continuing to build your experience in a busy and rewarding environment.

Your day-to-day work will include patient assessments, monitoring recovery, administering medication, and responding to changes in condition. The pace can shift quickly, so being organised and thinking clearly under pressure will be important. You’ll also help create a reassuring environment for patients and their whānau, so they feel informed and supported throughout their stay.

This is a part-time (0.8 FTE) and rostered, fixed term position for 12 months.
