Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital is the only private surgical in-patient hospital on the Auckland’s North Shore. North Harbour Hospital has 8 Operating Rooms, a 14 bed Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, a modern well-equipped day stay facility unit and a 70-bed ward which includes a 4-bed intermediate care facility (ICF).
Surgical specialities include General Surgery, Gynaecology, Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Urology, Orthopaedic surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, Urology, Otolaryngology and Robotic Surgery. In addition to the hospital, the broader North Shore campus is also home to a purpose-built endoscopy suite, on-site cardiology services, cancer care, pharmacy, sports medicine, radiology and more.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our perioperative service at Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital. Based on the North Shore, this full-time role (1.0 FTE) offers the chance to work within a modern, well-resourced theatre environment that supports a wide range of surgical procedures, with a strong focus on orthopaedics.
As part of our theatre team, you’ll play an important role across the perioperative journey, contributing as both a scrub and circulating nurse to ensure safe, efficient, and well-coordinated theatre sessions. From preparing patients and equipment through to assisting during procedures, your clinical expertise will support the delivery of consistently high standards of care.
This is a highly collaborative environment where you’ll work alongside surgeons, anaesthetists, and a multidisciplinary team, contributing to excellent clinical outcomes and a positive experience for patients. This role is particularly well suited to a nurse who brings relevant experience or a strong interest in this Orthopaedics.
You’ll be joining a team that is supportive, experienced, and committed to continuous improvement. Reporting to the Theatre Services Manager, this opportunity will suit a confident theatre nurse who enjoys working in a fast-paced setting and takes pride in delivering quality perioperative care.
