Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital is the only private surgical in-patient hospital on the Auckland’s North Shore. North Harbour Hospital has 8 Operating Rooms, a 14 bed Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, a modern well-equipped day stay facility unit and a 70-bed ward which includes a 4-bed intermediate care facility (ICF).
Surgical specialities include General Surgery, Gynaecology, Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Urology, Orthopaedic surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, Urology, Otolaryngology and Robotic Surgery. In addition to the hospital, the broader North Shore campus is also home to a purpose-built endoscopy suite, on-site cardiology services, cancer care, pharmacy, sports medicine, radiology and more.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse – Theatre to join the perioperative team at Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital. Based on Auckland’s North Shore, this full-time role (1.0 FTE) offers the opportunity to work within a modern and well-equipped operating theatre environment, supporting a diverse range of surgical specialties with a strong orthopaedic focus.
As a valued member of our theatre team, you’ll contribute across the perioperative continuum as both a scrub and circulating nurse, helping to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. You’ll work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure theatre sessions run smoothly while maintaining an exceptional patient experience.
This role provides exposure to a varied caseload and is particularly suited to an experienced theatre nurse with a background in, or passion for, orthopaedic surgery. You'll join a collaborative and supportive team that values clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Theatre Services Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a confident perioperative nurse who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding patient-centred care.
