Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

  • Te Wiremu House Lifecare, located in sunny east coast city of Gisborne
  • Casual (as and when required not on a regular basis)
  • AM, PM, Night and Weekend shifts 

As a Registered Nurse at Te Wiremu, no two days will be the same, but you can be certain that each day you will leave work feeling fulfilled, knowing that you’ve made a big difference in somebodies’ day. The work can be challenging, but it is also meaningful and rewarding, and the supportive and welcoming team will become your second family. As a Registered Nurse, you will use your skills to:

  • Lead and develop a team of dedicated Caregivers to provide a high-level of quality care
  • Develop and monitor care plans
  • Carry out clinical assessments
  • Form a lasting relationship with residents, families and GP’s
  • Support the Clinical Services and Care Home Managers 

He pūkenga tou | Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse, either in New Zealand or abroad
  • Hold a current APC or have the ability to obtain one
  • Experience leading the team preferred
  • Have a good team spirit with empathy and drive to make a difference in the lives of others
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with others
  • Excellent time management and prioritizing skills
  • Familiar with computers and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Understanding of Nga Paerewa sectors standards and applying the Treaty of Waitangi standards in the workplace.
