Toi Ohomai delivers quality vocational education and training to both domestic and international students, across five main campuses in Rotorua, Tauranga, Taupō, Tokoroa and Whakatāne, and 68 delivery sites across the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato. Toi Ohomai is now a subsidiary organisation for NZ Institute of Skills & Technology (working name) and part of a transformational change unifying all 16 Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics across Aotearoa; together with other work-based, provider-based and online learning. Collectively we will be NZ’s largest tertiary education provider with national and regional reach enabling learners and employers to move between workplaces and other educational offerings and between locations as their needs change.
Toi Ohomai is seeking a dynamic and progressive professional to fill a part time (0.5 FTE) role based in Taupō. The successful applicant will be part of a dynamic team who support the development of both students and academic staff with the digital skills they need to thrive in a fast changing workforce.
Reporting to the Teaching, Learning and Innovation Lead, this role will contribute significantly to the support of regional students and staff by:
• Supporting an innovative approach to technology enhanced learning
• Supporting academic staff to develop capability in the use of the Learning Management System (LMS) and other technology tools to enhance the student experience
• Delivering workshops and one on one sessions for students and staff that support their skills development and capacity to self help
• Working in collaboration with the Technology Enabled and Enhanced Learning and Student Success Team’s to drive technology use for effective learning across the rohe.
Key to your success in this role will be your demonstrated ability to develop strong professional relationships with stakeholders, namely students and staff. You will have the ability to deliver educational technology training and support to diverse audiences of differing ability levels in a way that develops their confidence and skills.
