About the role: 

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging recreation programmes that support residents' wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.
  • Promote the Eden Alternative philosophy by creating meaningful opportunities that reduce boredom, helplessness, and loneliness.
  • Develop individual recreation plans and ensure residents have access to enjoyable activities and social engagement opportunities.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and the wider care team to create a vibrant community environment.
  • Maintain accurate records, follow organisational policies, and support health, safety, and quality standards. 

About You

  • Hold a Level 2 Health and Wellbeing (or higher) or Level 4 Diversional Therapy
  • You are flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends
  • You are confident using a range of technology platforms and systems, with the ability to learn new applications quickly and accurately.
  • You have a genuine passion for working with older people and supporting meaningful ageing experiences.
  • You are creative, energetic, and enjoy facilitating a wide range of recreational and social activities.
  • You have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a friendly and positive approach.
  • Currently based in Levin.
  • Hold the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
