About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time innovative and enthusiastic Receptionist/ Administrative Assistant to join our fantastic National Office team in the hub of Wellington!

This role reports directly to the Administration Officer and will provide effective administrative support services to our small and passionate team of eight. You will oversee the maintenance of our membership and filing databases, ensuring that the needs of our union members are met. You will do this whilst delivering exceptional customer service. 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • General office, administration and reception duties.
  • Ensuring our membership and filing databases are accurate and regularly maintained.
  • Creating reports for meetings, minute taking and submitting them regularly to the National Management Committee.
  • Arranging and coordinating conferences, travel, functions and meetings.
  • Ensuring that all necessary appointments are arranged effectively to maximise staff time.

Successful applicants will have:  

  • Previous administrative experience. 
  • Previous customer service experience, ideally in a customer facing role. 
  • IT skills and an excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Suite including Word ,Excel and Access.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • The ability to quickly learn new systems and software.
