Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne, is looking for two passionate and capable people to join our Learning team.  

These permanent part-time roles help deliver our in-valley and outreach learning programmes for early childhood education, schools, holiday programmes, community groups and other education providers. Our learning programmes provide pathways for the next generation of conservation-focused New Zealanders.   

What kind of people are we looking for? 

Our Learning team has built a creative, fun, and supportive team culture, and are looking for like-minded people to join the whānau. 

You’ll enjoy public speaking and engaging with young people (ECE to year 13s) to connect with nature. You’ll ideally have some experience in science communication, and if not, be willing to learn. 

You know how to “read the room” and adapt your style and delivery as needed. As a team player, you aren’t afraid to muck in and support your teammates where needed. 

Other qualities we’re looking for: 

  • Passion, care and interest in conservation. 
  • Great communication skills. 
  • Embraces te reo and te ao Māori. 
  • Creative, fun, attentive and conscientious.  
  • Basic technical proficiency.  
  • General physical fitness (we deliver sessions in all sorts of weather, come rain or shine).

Both are permanent part-time roles at 20 hours a week (5 x 4-hour days). We’re looking for people to start early April.
