He angitūtanga – The Opportunity
This is a unique, fixed-term opportunity through to 2029 to play a key role in one of the region's largest infrastructure projects. As our RMA Monitoring and Compliance Officer - Ō2NL, you'll proactively monitor resource consent conditions and District Plan requirements, investigate compliance matters, respond to environmental incidents and support appropriate enforcement action where required.
Working closely with Alliance contractors, stakeholder partners, internal teams and the community, you'll help identify and resolve compliance issues early while supporting responsible project delivery.
This is a varied role that combines site inspections with investigation, evidence gathering, stakeholder engagement, report writing and regulatory decision-making, providing the opportunity to work across a complex and evolving infrastructure environment.

You build positive working relationships while maintaining regulatory independence and integrity. You're comfortable working with contractors, landowners, consultants and colleagues, and have the judgement to know when education, influence or enforcement is the appropriate response.
A tertiary qualification in environmental management, planning, or regulatory practice is highly desirable, and a current, full New Zealand driver's licence is essential.
