Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

We are seeking a Research and Innovation Centre (RIC) Administrator to join our Research Innovation Centre team at EIT | Te Pūkenga, based at our Taradale Campus in Hawke’s Bay. This permanent, part-time role (0.6 FTE) provides comprehensive administrative and coordination support for research-related activities across EIT. You will play a key role in supporting research operations, funding processes, committee governance, and stakeholder engagement to ensure a responsive and well-functioning research environment.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $49,584 and $61,980 (Full-Time Equivalent), dependent on skills and experience.

You will report to the Head of Research and will be responsible for:

  • Providing day-to-day administrative support for RIC operations and research activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records of research outputs, ethics submissions, and funding agreements.
  • Coordinating agendas, papers, and minutes for research committees.
  • Supporting funding applications, contracts, and compliance reporting.
  • Managing communications and promoting research achievements internally and externally.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Prior experience in research administration or academic services.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and digital collaboration tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
  • Understanding of te ao Māori and culturally responsive practice (desirable).
  • Certificate or diploma-level qualification in administration or project coordination (desirable).
