Are you a skilled quantity surveyor looking for a new opportunity in the construction industry? We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a quantity surveyor. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, managing budgets, and invoice approvals ensuring the smooth running of construction projects. If you have a strong analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills, we want to hear from you!

We are a close-knit team that work on several project across NZ including residential homes, commercial projects and retirement villages. The work will be varied and attention to detail and meeting deadlines is critical to the role.

As a quantity surveyor, you will play a key role in providing financial control and cost management for our construction projects. You will work closely with the project team to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and to the highest possible standard. Your ability to accurately estimate costs and identify potential risks or opportunities will be vital in ensuring the success of our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately estimating project costs and preparing budgets
  • Evaluating and advising on contract tenders, and managing the tendering process
  • Preparing and submitting progress and cost reports to clients and stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to implement cost-saving measures and improve efficiency

Requirements

  • New Zealand Diploma in Construction (QS), Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics, Postgraduate, Graduate or Masters in QS
  • Proven experience as a quantity surveyor in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and quantity surveying software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The position will be in our offices in Hamilton CBD and offers a great opportunity to the successful candidate to progress within the organisation as we grow our pricing and estimation team. A generous remuneration package commensurate with experience and including opportunities for continuous education will be provided.
