Odyssey is now seeking an experienced and relationship-focused Quality Manager to lead organisational quality improvement, risk, and safety initiatives across our services.

This role is ideally suited to a clinically experienced professional, particularly a Registered Nurse or senior clinician, who understands the realities of the health sector and/or mental health, addiction, and community-based service delivery and is passionate about strengthening quality, learning, and safe practice across the organisation.

Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, you’ll play a key role in driving excellence across our services by leading and coordinating essential quality and compliance systems. No two days will be the same as you champion continuous improvement initiatives, support best-practice risk management processes, oversee complaints and incident management, strengthen infection prevention and control measures, and help foster a strong health and safety culture.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 3 year’s relevant work experience, including experience in a similar function or role
  • A Registered Nurse current APC (preferred) but you may also have a degree level qualification in Health Science, Policy, Health or Statistics.
  • Experience of coordinating processes for internal and/or external audits (knowledge of relevant standards in the health sector is desirable)
  • Proven report writing skills and experience 
  • Experience within mental health, addiction, community, or health service environments (highly desirable)
  • Experience of coordinating processes for internal and/or external audits
  • Knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and the application of it within health settings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and networks with a range of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of organisational requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Act
