Based across our packing facilities across Hawkes Bay, the night shift Q&P Verification Auditor is responsible for inspecting, testing and verifying apple products to ensure they meet Rockit strict quality, performance and compliance standards. This role supports operational teams by identifying defects, validating processes to ensure apples meet Rockit specifications before being released to customers.

This permanent opportunity will ideally suit a people orientated quality person who enjoys working collaboratively with various quality and production teams.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of apples and apple products
  • Verify conformance to Rockit Apple Specifications and quality standard for all operational facilities
  • Escalate defects, non-conformances and process deviations 
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, reports and quality documentation 
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and phytosanitary requirements for all packing facilities
  • Proactively collaborate with quality and production teams, management teams and senior quality team as required
  • Champion Rockit’s commitment to delivering premium fruit globally
  • Contribute to projects that strengthen quality, compliance, and food safety best practices
  • Support new product implementation and quality verification activities

Hours & Location:

  • Sunday to Friday, 4:30pm – 2:30am
  • Based across our packing facilities located in Napier and Hastings 
  • An immediate start available

What Rocks You: 

  • Experience in quality control and HACCP systems for apple export packhouse and cool storage operations
  • Completed Phytosanitary training
  • A team player with good people and relationship management skills
  • Competent computer skills, including ABC, Excel, Microsoft Office
  • Organised and proactive 
  • Flexible in terms of working hours as packing facilities can operate different shift pattern
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changing situations
  • Empathy towards different cultures and beliefs in a working environment
  • As this role is based at various locations, a full driver licence is required along with your own reliable transport. Rockit has pool vehicles available, otherwise if personal vehicles are used to travel between locations a mileage reimbursement is paid.
