About the Opportunity
BestStart Redwood is excited to welcome a passionate, dedicated Qualified and Certificated Teacher to our energetic, supportive team. This is a permanent position, 30 hours per week (Monday–Friday) in our preschool space, working with children aged 2–5 years.
Strong relationships with our centre whānau sit at the heart of our practice. Our philosophy reflects connection, belonging, and meaningful engagement. We are proud of our deep ties to the natural environment and value teaching respect through caring for our gardens, growing kai, and sharing produce with our children and their whānau. These practices are woven into our local curriculum and cultural narrative.
You’ll be joining an experienced team of dedicated Kaiako, many with over 10 years of service, who enjoy learning together and creating an environment where both children and teachers grow side by side. About the Role

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a teacher who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners and who thrives in a collaborative, high‑quality teaching environment.
You will bring:
- A BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Teacher Certification
- Strong understanding of child‑led curriculum, planning, and extending children’s learning
- Solid knowledge of ECE Regulations, Te Whāriki, and a commitment to compliance
- A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday practice
- Passion, professionalism, and a focus on delivering high‑quality teaching and learning
