Our focus is to provide quality education to the children in our community and we are excited to be involved in research around children's Oral language and Self-regulation- Kia Timata Pai. This research involves around 1,600 BestStart pre-schoolers!

About the Role:  

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week Monday-Friday, from 9am - 5.30pm.

This position would also suit someone in their final year of study and are looking to secure a position once qualified.

This position is based in our Preschool Room, with our tamariki aged 2- 5 years old. In our over twos area we have a large outdoor space that promotes healthy physical activities. We focus on children developing their confidence and independence as well as the ability to work cooperatively with others.

We provide stimulating learning opportunities that will challenge and extend your child’s learning and development and instill the skills needed for successful lifelong learning.

Role requirements:  

Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:  

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification  or nearing the end of your study towards a Level 7 ECE qualification  
  • Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning  
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard  
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices  
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
