About the Role:

BestStart Paerata Rise is seeking a dedicated, qualified teacher to join our team and help bring our vision, Popoia te kākano, kia pūawai – "Nurture the seed so it will blossom" – to life. Our philosophy focuses on supporting each child’s journey from Kākano (seed) to Huawai (blossom) through love (aroha), care (manaakitanga), relationships (whanaungatanga), and guardianship (kaitiakitanga). 

We are looking for a dedicated teacher who embodies our values and brings a positive, caring approach to each interaction. Strong communication skills are essential, as our teachers work closely with children, families, and colleagues to foster a warm and collaborative atmosphere. Teamwork is at the heart of our centre, so we’re seeking someone who is not only a great communicator but also enjoys working collaboratively with others to support children’s learning journeys.

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week Monday-Friday

Role requirements:

Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification
  • Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
