Are you a newly qualified, certificated teacher ready to begin your early childhood career? At BestStart Nottingham Avenue, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and passionate teacher to join our dedicated toddler team (2–3 years).

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer a supportive environment where you can grow and thrive in your teaching journey.

About Us

Located in a peaceful residential area, BestStart Nottingham Avenue is a long-standing, homely centre that has been part of the local community for many years. We provide quality care and education for tamariki aged 3 months to 6 years, across three age-appropriate classrooms.

Each room, including our toddler space, opens out to its own outdoor area – a natural, engaging environment where children explore, learn, and build meaningful connections. Our centre philosophy, "Relationships Nurture and Support Learning," underpins everything we do.

What We’re Looking For

  • Enthusiastic about working with toddlers aged 2–3 years
  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification 
  • Ready to bring fresh ideas and energy to the team
  • Willing to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a nurturing, inclusive environment
  • Committed to child-led learning and Te Whāriki
  • Respectful of and engaged with Te Tiriti o Waitangi
