About the Role:
Whether you are a newly qualified teacher or an experienced educator, if you have a passion for teaching young children, we want to hear from you. This is a permanent position working 40hours per week Monday-Friday.
Monties is our preschool space for our 3-6 year old tamariki, it is inspired by the Montessori philosophy in our home-like environment. Our children learn through real life, purposeful experiences. Our children are independent and responsible for themselves, each other and the environment.
We offer a robust transition to school programme and this involves visits from and to Arrowtown primary school and termly we attend the school assembly. Our unique ‘Adventurers Programme’ for our 8 oldest children venture out regularly into our local community, learning about exploring and discovering the world around them.
Role requirements:
Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:
- B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Teacher Certification
- Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning
- Some Montessori experience or willingness to learn
- Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
- A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices
- Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
