About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Certificated Teacher to join our energetic team in the Weka Room, working with a mixed-age group of toddlers aged 16 months to 2.5 years.

In this role, you will:

  • Support tamariki as they progress through key toddler development stages
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with whānau
  • Contribute to a child-led, culturally responsive curriculum
  • Help create meaningful learning outcomes for every child

The Weka Room offers a stimulating indoor and outdoor environment, including a dynamic play space with harbour views designed to challenge motor skills and encourage exploration. Our curriculum emphasises cultural identity, problem-solving, communication, and social-emotional development.

This is a permanent position working 32 hours per week across 4 or 5 days.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced teachers. You will bring:

  • A BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher certification
  • Strong understanding of child-led learning, planning, and extending children’s interests
  • Sound knowledge of ECE regulations, Te Whāriki, and compliance expectations
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday practice
  • Passion for delivering high-quality teaching and learning
