BestStart Huntsbury is looking for a passionate and dedicated Qualified & Certificated Teacher to join our warm, supportive team. 

Nestled in the beautiful Christchurch hills, our modern, purpose-built centre features five learning spaces designed to support children at every stage of their development. About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) working within our nurturing Under 2s team, across Riverlaw and Ōpāwaho Learning Spaces. 

Riverlaw Learning Space is a calm and nurturing environment designed especially for babies, providing a secure foundation for exploration, discovery, and development.

Ōpāwaho Learning Space supports busy, curious toddlers as they grow in confidence and independence. With rich opportunities for play, exploration, and learning, this vibrant space encourages children to discover the world around them.

We're Looking For

  • B.Ed or Diploma in Teaching (Level 7 ECE or Primary)
  • Current New Zealand Teaching Certification
  • Strong understanding of child-led curriculum, planning, and extending children's learning
  • Sound knowledge of Te Whāriki and current ECE regulations
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance and quality practice
  • A genuine commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through everyday pedagogy
  • Passion, enthusiasm, and dedication to providing exceptional learning experiences for children
