BestStart Halswell Road is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and relationship-focused Kaiako to join our warm and collaborative team. This is a fixed-term parental leave cover position (40 hours per week) through to May 2027, based in our nursery for tamariki aged 0–2 years.

About the Role

You will be part of our nurturing nursery environment where there is a strong focus on each individual child’s care and learning. Our approach prioritises authentic, respectful interactions, ensuring tamariki feel heard, valued, and empowered.

What We’re Looking For

  • BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher certification
  • Strong understanding of child-led curriculum and planning
  • Knowledge of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday practice
  • Passion, professionalism, and a collaborative approach
